When it comes to children wearing glasses there are some real shockers out there, trust me. There are so many children that find it hard to see why they are being picked on for this reason and do not wish to wear their glasses because they feel uncomfortable?
Although everyone with glasses is not smart, not by any means at all in fact, it would seem that bullies tend to target the really clever ones. This seems to be on the whole. Many children feel threatened by the clever students which is of course why they attempt to bully them in the first place. However many of the geeky children do not have the confidence they need to stop bulling from occurring.

- 25% of children that wear glasses said they are upset because they have to wear them to school
- Half of all children do not actually wear their glasses when they are supposed too
- Once again half of the children that wear glasses are called names.
Some of these figures are crazy, they make you realise how big the problem is. If your child is being bullied because of their glasses you should first ask them to tell the bullies to stop it. The next step is to ask your child to make a name for themselves. The bullies are not clever, play on this to win. Failing all of this just go into the school and make a note of speaking to the head about it as this will get results.
So when you think glasses don’t always think cool police glasses and aviator glasses, think about the normal people that wear cheap glasses.
